About

I believe the client is the expert of themselves

About Rue

Hi, I’m Rue, I am compassionate person with a strong desire to help people along their journey to becoming the best versions of themselves. I am a qualified integrative counsellor with nearly 10 years of experience and adhere to the BACP ethical framework.

I work primarily with a person-centred approach to counselling which means I can offer a non-judgmental approach whilst drawing from other models such as Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also have experience in play therapy where I have gained training from previous organisations such as Place2be. This has really helped broaden my knowledge and understanding of how to build warm and trusting relationships with children and young people.

During the last six years I have had the privilege of supporting clients at the lovely Old Rectory Clinic based in iron Acton where I have grown a wonderful trusting client base. I have since expanded my practice to Thornbury and looking forward to welcoming more clients to the Thornbury practice.
After receiving therapy myself, I could see first hand how much it can truly help a person to gain a healthier and happier perspective and to understand themselves and their behaviour better. As your counsellor, I am here to see your struggles from your point of view and provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel at ease and accepted. This will allow us to explore and utilise your own strengths and personal identity.
